چکیده

A novel experimental method for the lateral mixing of binary solids in bubbling fluidized beds was developed based on capacitance probe technique. The evolutions local ratios a bed which can be assumed as one cell were analyzed detail. within resolved and effect convection diffusion mechanism evaluated individually. results show that at lower part bed, plays more important role process near wall; meanwhile, is very around center line. This opposite with higher part. micro dispersion coefficient proposed to characterize value generally between 0.005 0.025 m/s. new index evaluate quality solids. It found best acquired half radius, whereas line worst. At part, solid better when increasing distance from wall. influences gas velocity static also discussed microscopic perspective.

Determination of Cluster Hydrodynamics in Bubbling Fluidized Beds by the EMMS Approach

The local solid flow structure of gas-solid bubbling fluidized bed was investigated to identify and characterize the particle clusters. Extensive mathematical calculations were carried out using the energy-minimization multi-scale (EMMS) approach for evaluating cluster properties including the velocity, the size and the void fraction of clusters in the dense phase of the bed. The results showed...

Dynamic Behavior of Local Solids Concentration in Fluidized Beds: Experimental Validation of an Eulerian-Eulerian Model

Recent years have witnessed significant improvements in the computer modeling of fluidized particle systems. Such models hold the potential to simulate complex systems and thus greatly reduce design efforts. As we approach the goal of simulating arbitrary systems, there exists a greater need to challenge the ability of the models to predict key features of operating beds. The simplest challenge...

Mixing Behaviors of Wet Granular Materials in Gas Fluidized Beds

The mixing behaviors of dry and wet granular materials in gas fluidized bed systems were investigated computationally using the combined Computational Fluid Dynamics and Discrete Element Method (CFD-DEM). Dry particles were observed to mix fairly rapidly during the fluidization process due to vigorous relative motions between particles induced by the flow of gas. In contrast, due to the presenc...

CFD-DEM Investigation on van der Waals Force in Gas-Solid Bubbling Fluidized Beds

Effect of interparticle force on the hydrodynamics of gas-solid fluidized beds was investigated using the combined method of computational fluid dynamics and discrete element method (CFD-DEM). The cohesive force between particles was considered to follow the van der Waals equation form. The model was validated by experimental results from literature in terms of bed voidage distribution and Eule...
